Denny

This fisherman has traveled to the island with his bird, Kuu, in search of large fish. Denny keeps to the fisherman's code and spends every day out on the ocean trying to catch the big one.

In the mornings Denny goes out in his fishing boat, so you usually won't see him on the island until he returns at 9am. On rainy day the ocean is too dangerous and so he stays on land.

Being a fisherman is difficult though, since he always has to do repairs on his equipment and he's risking his life. If he falls out of his boat while on the ocean he could become shark food. Denny claims he's had to fight off sharks several times!

Denny tells you it was a very powerful fish. Sharks are huge, but there are so few giant normal fish. The reason he came to the island is because of the fish in the print. It is his dream to catch this fish.

Ever since his parent's boat sank, he has been cautious of damp-feeling winds. The god of weather has a fickle temper. One day it could be clear and the next day it becomes stormy.

Well now you seem gloomy, so he apologizes for his depressing story.

In the store, Denny notices that Chen doesn't have any fish for sale and offers to collect some. Chen is glad to hear that, especially since raw fish does not store well for a very long time. The fish get kind of stinky, although it is edible.

Denny thinks fish is even delicious when baked, and he plans to bring some fish by later. Denny has much success catching fish thanks to the fish bait that Chen stocks in his shop. At that point Chen notices that you've been listening the whole time.

Denny asks you what your favorite kind of fish recipe is.

Denny appears to be near the garbage can next to his house when you catch up to him. Denny tells you that he had gone fishing and had only caught an old boot, which of course is not edible or useful.

He only caught trash? The silence between the two of you is awkward, until Denny requests that you don't tell anyone. It would be uncool if they heard that all he caught was an old rubber boot. You agree not to say anything, but Denny is still very embarrassed and walks away.

Denny is standing outside his fishing shack, and explain his crumbling little shack got a little more damaged from the previous day's storm. If he doesn't fix the leaky roof then the whole thing might collapse. Fishermen aren't very good at house repairs!

The real repairman, Gannon, finally shows up and asks about your house before he gets to work on Denny's. Your house is just fine, so you volunteer to help with the repairs to Denny's little purple shack. Denny is grateful for your assistance and the three of you get to work.

The temporary repairs you make will hold up for now until Gannon can get the replacement parts. Denny thanks the both of you, but your help has made him especially happy.

Denny and Lanna are inside the diner having a meal. He's surprised to learn that she's the famous singing star. Lanna use to sing a lot more, but she is beginning to feel that she might be getting too old to be a pop star. Anyways, Lanna doesn't have as many fans as she use to.

He's only a fisherman, but Denny think that she looks great. Anyone who says she's too old must be crazy. He'd be more than willing to go to one of her concerts. Lanna just arrived to the island and already she has a fan! The former celebrity gives Denny her autograph and he says he'll display it in his house.

Denny is looking at the fishing equipment in Lanna's house and notices that one of her parts is broken. Not to worry though, fixing this fishing equipment is something he can do. Lanna is grateful, but as Denny takes a better and isn't confident that it can be repaired. It's a shame too, since it looks to be a great pole.

Lanna insists that it is fixable, because normally she fixes it herself. It looks like she is annoyed! Denny says he was just teasing, but her face looks so cute. Lanna cheers up while he fixes her fishing pole. It looks to be in good shape now, but Denny makes an innocent remark about her fishing skills that gets her annoyed again.

As you walk into the Diner, Lanna urgently wants to tell you a story. It seems that Denny was suppose to go fishing with Lanna but he skipped out on their meeting. Denny argues that he wasn't told where to meet up, but Lanna insists that she told him to go to the water well. Denny says he went to the well! Lanna says that he didn't, and he can even ask the Diner manager.

The well in front of the Diner? Denny figured since they were going to go fishing at the beach, that they would meet at the well next to Chen's shop. It looks like they had two different ideas as to where they were going to meet up. They apologize to each other and to you for getting stuck in the middle of their argument.

Denny notices that Lanna is at the beach at an odd time of day and asks if she's okay. She's better than okay, as she just caught her first large fish! Lanna wants to show it to him and Denny wants to see it.

It look like Denny doesn't believe her fish story and now she's annoyed at him again. Denny explain that he wanted to fish with her so he can see her catch one. Lanna expects to surprise him when she gets a large fish, but Denny seems to already be amazed. Lanna laughs and leaves the beach.

After she leaves, Denny makes a silent wish to the fishing god for some courage.

Harvest Moon IoH : Shea

Shea

In the northern Jungle land of the island lives two native hunters. Shea and his fellow wild-man, Wada, live in a hut that protects a giant tower. Shea is aware of the delicate balance between hunting for food and being wasteful, and he will try to explain it to you over and over.

Since he has lived for a long time without any outside contact, his speaks in short, broken sentences.

Shea's heart color is invisible.

You can visit Shea after you have hired Gannon to build the last bridge on the island. Shea does not have any marriage rivals.

Shea tells you it's important to know that the easiest things to hunt are fish because they don't attack. He then shows you the spears he uses for fishing. They are greatful for the fish so they eat everything, but they only take what's necessary. That's what is most important. Shea asks if you understand.

Shea will notice that you're checking out the tower hidden in the foliage, and tells you that he heard from Wada that it was given to an old tribe by their god. He tells the story of an old tribe that couldn't hunt anything at all. They couldn't even find grass or mushrooms to eat, and they were all hungry.

One day the tower fell from the sky, food appeared around the tower, and the tribe became well. The building was highly valued by the tribe and they would not permit anyone to enter it.　Shea asks what you think of the story.

Walk to the northern island and you'll find Shea ranting how Wada is strong, but Shea is the strongest. Yesturday he got a good hunt all by himself, and that makes him the strongest! Shea asks if you know of a strong guy. He requests that you bring him so he can proove which one is stronger.

You return with Gannon, the muscular carpenter. Shea tells the both of you that he's strong and he'll win. Gannon's not sure what Shea wants, but soon finds out when Shea starts to fight him.

Shea soon finds himself tossed onto the ground. Gannon scolds him, tells him he doesn't have the time for this, and then leaves. Shea's disappointed that he lost and he feels pretty miserable.

Shea's confidence has crashed, and he doesn't feel like the strongest person around. He slowely heads back to his house.

Unfortunately, the annoyed Witch says she was not even living on the island at that time. She has some free time though, and maybe she can find out for him. Witch casts a spell to try and find out who sent Shea down the river.

Witch predicts that it was a very elegant person, which makes Shea quite happy. Wada must have met this person, so he heads back home after thanking you and the Witch Princess.

After he leaves, Witch wonders if she set him out in the right direction. She says what she saw in her vision was unexpected.

Shea says he's an interesting person, and the smells from his house are very good as well. Shea remembers that he is suppose to be taking you home, and he stops daydreaming about Pierre's food to continue on down the path.

The two of you finally reach your house. Shea is surprised to see how your house is larger than Wada's. Now that he's dropped you off he's going to return home.

Wada looks very angry and intimidating, but Shea assures you that he can apologize without your help. He apologizes to Wada for eating his food. Wada accepts his apology and isn't angry at him anymore. Shea thanks you for your advice.

Elliot

Elliot and his family washed up on the island the same day that you arrived. He helps his mom and grandfather take care of the island's exports. Elliot has determination and tries to act responsible, but the constant belittling from his younger sister, Natalie, has really damanged his self esteem.

Elliot welcomes you but says he's still working at the moment. If you can do it then so can he! Elliot then asks if you can help him, even though doing his own work makes him happy anyway.

Elliot chuckles and accepts your kind offer. Taro enters the house and asks if the preparations are set. Elliot replies that they're ready to go, and explains to you that a ship will be arriving, so he has to prepare the crates for loading. You all head out to the beach.

After the work has been completed, Elliot commented on how there's always a lot of crates and thanks you for your effort. Sneaky Taro pops up again and thank the two of you for the help. He has to finish up with the shipment and suggests you two head back. Elliot thanks you again for your assistance

Elliot looks to be sad and doesn't notice you walk in. You finally get his attention by scaring him, which he doesn't appreciate very much! He tells you he was deep in thought and that's why he seemed spaced out. You notice that nobody is around. Elliot tells you everyone is out on errands so he's staying home.

Elliot asks if you're finished with your work today, which you are. Elliot begins to talk about his sister and says even though he is older, she doesn't respect him at all. Elliot feels that Natalie picks on him more than anyone else.

His little sister walks in and hears him tell you that she's really mean, and wishes that his sister was more like you. He doesn't notice that Natalie is standing behind him until she asks why you two were talking about her! Elliot blurts out that you were only talking about work.

» Um, yea!

Well she doesn't see anything wrong with that and walks away. Once she's out of sight Elliot thanks you for going along with his story.

As you walk inside, Taro is trying to explain to Elliot the old "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" saying, and then tacking on the "kill two birds with one stone" phrase at the end. Elliot is trying to follow his grandpa's advice and gets the impression that Taro knows everything.

Felicia finally steps in and tells her father that he's mixed up two different expressions. She scolds him for making up answers. Elliot notices you've been standing there and asks why you didn't step in. Now he feels like a fool.

Elliot explains to you that he made an error with his work, and accidentally gave the wrong receipt to a merchant. He did not know what to tell his mom or Natalie. You try to encourage him, but to him a mistake is a mistake.

Elliot sadly walks away.

As you walk into the forest, you run into Elliot protecting Eliza from a wild dog. Eliza asks for your help, so you run up and scare the dog away. Elliot thanks you and says that neither of them are injured. Eliza is impressed by the both of you scaring the dog away.Elliot doesn't think the dog had a like for him as well! Eliza thanks the both of you for the help.

Elliot also is grateful for your assistance too. Eliza continues to praise both of you, so much so that Elliot starts to become embarrassed.

Elliot argues that everyone on the island should work together. Mirabelle overhears their conversation and agrees with Elliot. Mirabelle suggests that her daughter let Elliot help, and Julia gratefully accepts his help.

Julia is inside thanking Elliot for his help with the work. She's brought him a reward and requests that he eat it all. Elliot thanks her and then apologizes for the other day. His sister overhears Eliot and asks what happened. Julia explains that Elliot had fallen down, scattering the contents of a merchandise box.

Natalie asks her brother why he keeps going to help. Julie lets her know that it was tough collecting everything up but thanks to Elliot, they noticed their inventory was low and were able to contact their supplier. Natalie wonders if the day when her brother's blunders were actually of some use has arrived, but thinks the situation might of been because of the earthquake that occurred the other day.

Elliot gives a glare to his sister, but Julia just giggles and thanks Elliot anyway.

Julia says she was also worried but they've been able to help each other out. She and her mother might not have turned out so well. Elliot tells her not to say such things. Julie is uneasy every day, but Elliot says that he's been happy since she came to the island. His statement makes Julia happy.

Julia is very surprised and her silence bothers Elliot. He sadly apologizes for his abrupt request and assumes that he isn't good enough. Right as he begins to leave she stops him. His proposal was quite sudden and she didn't understand it, but now she does. Julia doesn't dislike Elliot at all! The two of them are very happy.
